PMK is delighted to announce that it has been awarded the electrical services contract for the new Northwest Hospice development at Sligo University Hospital. This transformative project will deliver a purpose-built hospice facility, greatly enhancing specialist palliative care services across the region.
The project is being delivered by main contractor Tracey Brothers, with Patrick McCaul Environmental Consulting Engineers serving as consultant.
The development, situated within the grounds of a protected structure, includes the construction of a sensitively designed part single-storey/part two-storey extension, providing 12 state-of-the-art en-suite inpatient bedrooms and comprehensive support accommodation. In addition to the extension, the scheme includes the refurbishment and partial demolition of the existing facility, an undercroft car park, upgraded surface parking, and extensive landscaping works.

Construction is underway, with completion expected in Summer 2026. The new facility will represent a significant milestone in palliative care provision, providing a modern, dignified environment for patients and families during their most vulnerable times.
