PMK Awarded Full Electrical Package for Landmark Vita Student Project in Edinburgh

We are delighted to announce that PMK has been awarded the full electrical installation package for the new Vita Student residence at New Waverley North, part of the prestigious £240 million New Waverley regeneration project in the heart of Edinburgh’s UNESCO World Heritage site.

The new development will deliver 267 high quality student accommodation, including 207 studio apartments and 60 cluster rooms, alongside a wide range of premium amenities. Designed to enhance the student experience, the building will feature a state-of-the-art gym, dedicated social and study spaces, and Vita Student’s signature customer experience aimed at helping students ‘Begin Big’ during their university journey.

PMK has been engaged by main contractor McAleer & Rushe to deliver the full electrical package, including:

• Main Switchgear and Sub-Mains Distribution
• Life Safety Generator and Distribution Systems
• Full Lighting and General Power Installation
• Fire Alarm and Security Systems
• IT Network and Audio-Visual Installation
• Photovoltaic (PV) System Installation

With preconstruction works already underway, we are delighted to be playing a key role in this standout project located just below Calton Hill and steps from the iconic Royal Mile. The building sits within Edinburgh’s historic “Old Town”, placing this project at the heart of a vibrant and culturally rich urban setting.

This project award represents another milestone for PMK in delivering large scale electrical solutions across the UK’s most ambitious urban regeneration projects.
