Description

PMK undertook sample fixed wire testing at a large-scale food processing facility, as part of the site’s ongoing periodic inspection cycle. The project involved inspection and testing of approximately one-third of all circuits per distribution board, in line with standard practice for sample testing.

Scope of Works:
  • 20 distribution boards included in the Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR).
  • Approximately 200 circuits tested across a range of environments, including:
    • Sterile production areas
    • Staff changing rooms
    • Canteen and welfare facilities
    • Extensive office accommodation

Given the critical hygiene standards in the sterile production zones, pre-planning and strict adherence to factory protocols were essential. The testing was conducted with minimal disruption and without compromising the integrity of the sterile environments, thanks to close collaboration with on-site management.

Additional Services:
  • Annual Emergency Lighting test conducted across the facility in accordance with BS 5266.
  • Defective fittings were identified, documented, and reported back to the client for rectification.
Outcome:

The project was delivered on schedule, with clear and actionable reporting provided. All work was carried out with full compliance to site-specific safety and hygiene standards, ensuring operational continuity and regulatory adherence.
