PMK is pleased to announce that we have been awarded the Electrical Services contract for the major Medical Beds development now underway at Sligo University Hospital. This landmark project will deliver a state-of-the-art five storey extension comprising of new bedroom wards and a series of enhanced healthcare spaces, all seamlessly connected to the existing hospital concourse. The scheme also includes the construction of a new covered access ramp, providing an improved and fully accessible pedestrian entrance to the hospital.
Architecturally, the development is designed as two inter-connected structures. A taller brick-clad block continues the strong building line and height profile along The Mall, while a second, lower Techrete-clad block extends outwards over the car park. This pavilion like element provides a more human scaled interface with the hospital campus and delivers a contemporary, quality addition to the wider healthcare environment.
PMK will be responsible for the full electrical installation across the new facility, including:
Mark Whaley, PMK Commercial Director, commented: “We are delighted to once again support the delivery of critical healthcare infrastructure, and we are proud to bring our specialist expertise to a project of such importance to the region. Our team is committed to providing robust, future proof electrical systems that will enhance patient care and support the hospital’s clinical operations for decades to come.”
